Alex Cebada (they/them) is a Mexican poet and researcher born in Mexico City. Their work explores the intersections of trauma, identity, and resistance through poetry, academic research, and digital narratives. With a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from UNAM, Alex’s writing confronts systemic oppression—from personal experiences of abuse to the exploitation of marginalized bodies under capitalism.
As a non-binary creator, Alex interrogates the boundaries of narrative, both in their collection Poems For Those Who Will Never Read Them and in their dynamic conferences on video game storytelling. Their research bridges academia and art, dissecting how narratives shape—and disrupt—power structures.

Poems For Those Who Will Never Read Them
A raw and unflinching collection, Poems For Those Who Will Never Read Them (2022) confronts the legacy of abuse and the struggle to reclaim one’s voice in a world that demands silence.
Through visceral imagery and haunting verse, Alex Roman crafts a testament to survival, weaving personal pain with universal resonance.
“I could not cry, or yell, or bawl, or speak, only to yearn for a voice of my own that would not yet grow.”
Coming Soon
Only Nepotism Dreams Come True (And Other Late Capitalism Poems)
Alex Roman’s next poetry collection dissects the machinery of late capitalism through the lens of call center labor—a microcosm of exploitation where dreams are commodified and voices mechanized.
“The doors are wide for their huge names while our knuckles bleed and our screams fade… Only nepotism dreams come true.”

Highlighted Conferences
Alex Roman’s scholarly work examines literary disruption through the exploration of fractured identities and integrates groundbreaking analysis of video games as emergent narrative forms. This focus on encompasing distinct narratives challenges traditional storytelling paradigms.
